Maybe you've been carrying more than you realized.

Perhaps you've been caring for someone else for so long that

you've stopped asking what you need.

Maybe grief has changed you in ways you're still trying to

understand.

Perhaps a relationship, role, season of life, or version of

yourself is shifting.

Or maybe nothing is obviously wrong.

You simply know that somewhere along the way,

you've become a little disconnected from yourself.

Returning to Yourself was created for those moments.

Not to give you more advice.

Not to tell you what you should do next.

And certainly not to suggest there is something about you that needs fixing.

It is an invitation to slow down long enough to hear yourself again.

Thoughtful Morning by the Window.png

A book you don't have to "finish."

There is no right way to move through these pages.

You can begin at the beginning or open to the reflection that seems to be calling you.

You can write pages.  Or a sentence. Or nothing at all.

You might sit with one reflection over your morning coffee, return to another when life feels particularly heavy, or revisit a question months from now and discover that your answer has changed.

This isn't another thing to accomplish.

It's a place to come back to.

"Returning to Yourself gives us permission to do just that."

"Karen does not expect her readers to have all the answers; instead she gently guides them using thoughtful questions and prompts which allow them to honestly express themselves, practice self-compassion and gain a better understanding of what they need and desire.

As someone who has worked extensively with individuals dealing with serious illness, caregiving for a family member, grieving loved ones, and navigating life transitions, I understand how infrequently we give ourselves the opportunity and grace to pause and consider 'how am I doing?'  Returning to Yourself gives us permission to do just that."

Inside Returning to Yourself

Through gentle reflections and thoughtful questions, you'll be invited to explore some of the things many women carry quietly:

The weight of caring for others

and what happens when your own needs have been pushed aside.

Emotional exhaustion

and the difference between simply getting through and truly being present in your own life.

Grief and loss

including the losses that aren't always recognized or spoken about.

Identity and change

and who you are when familiar roles, relationships, and expectations begin to shift.

Boundaries and relationships

and what can happen when you begin listening to yourself differently.

What you need now

not what you once needed, what others need from you, or what you think you should need.

AND PERHAPS MOST IMPORTANTLY,

Who are you becoming?

You don't need to have the answers.

Some reflections may feel immediately familiar.

Others may not be for you right now.

Some may bring clarity.

Some may bring emotion.

Some may leave you with another question.

And occasionally, a reflection may simply give words to something you've known quietly for a long time.

There is no score.

No finish line.

No better version of yourself waiting at the end.

Only an opportunity to become a little more curious about the woman who is already here.

From Women Who've Spent Time With the Book

Before sharing Returning to Yourself more widely, I invited a small group of women to spent time with its reflections.  Their responses reminded me why I created it in the first place.

"I didn't know how much I needed this."

"What stood out most to me was the safe, non-judgmental space she creates for

honest reflection."

"Every woman needs this."

Make it yours.

Read it on your tablet or computer.

Print the entire book and place it in a binder.

Print individual pages when there is something you want to spend more time with.

Write in a journal alongside it.

Keep it nearby and return when you need it.

There is no prescribed way to use Returning to Yourself.

Your way is the right way.

From my living room to yours

Inside the Living Room began with a simple belief:

There are conversations women are hungry to have about the things we carry, the roles we've played, the ways life changes us, and what it might mean to live a little differently.

Returning to Yourself grew from those same conversations.

I created this book not because I believe you need someone else to tell you how to live your life.

Quite the opposite.

I believe there is wisdom in slowing down long enough to hear your own voice.

My hope is that somewhere within these pages you find a question that makes you pause.

A reflection that helps something make sense.

A little more compassion for the woman you have been.

Or perhaps a clearer sense of what you want for the woman you are becoming.

Take what speaks to you.  Leave what doesn't.

And come back whenever you need to.

There will always be a chair for you here.

Inside the Living Room

Perhaps this is your time to pause.

You don't need to know where the reflections will take you.

You don't need to have anything figured out.

You can simply begin where you are.
